未来 Windows 系统或不再有 Win8、Win9 之分

微软欲将 Windows、Windows RT 和 Windows Phone 三大平台整合，其最新的 Windows Phone 手机广告已开始使用 Windows 手机的称呼，不再提及 Windows Phone。事实上，微软在未来 Windows 版本的命名上，或许会有更激进的举措。

据 The Verge 消息，微软正在研发下一代 Windows Threshold，也就是众人所说的 Windows 9，但下一代 Windows 究竟是否叫 Windows 9 还很难说，微软或许会直接简称为“Windows”，不再使用数字名称。

Windows 9 的最大变革可能是升级方式，将真正采用常规的、定期或不定期的系统更新方案，而非每隔两三年进行重大系统升级（如 Windows 10、Windows 11），这种系统升级方式能让用户尽快享受到最新的系统优化和新功能。不久前，微软就为 Windows 8.1 推送了八月更新，提升了部分系统性能。

虽然微软内部仍会有版本号方案，但面对消费者时将不再强调，而是统一使用 Windows。实际上，在当前的广告中，微软已经用 Windows 取代了 Windows 8。

有消息称，Windows RT 和 Windows Phone 在微软内部已统一用“Windows 移动”来指代。
